Abraham Foxman, national director of the Anti-Defamation League of B'nai B'rith (ADL) recenly admitted that he initiated the idea more than a year ago that a pardon for Marc Rich be obtained and suggested advisement on how to obtain it using Rich’s ex-wife.

Foxman
admitted that he raised the idea to one of Marc Rich’s top aides (also a former Mossad member) just weeks after the fugitive financier's foundation
pledged $100,000 to the ADL.
The
suggestion came at least eight months before Rich's lawyers officially filed a
formal pardon application with the Clinton White House.

While many
government and organizational leaders denied involvement in the Rich
pardon, we who understand world affairs know better. Informed observers realize that where any Jewish fugitive or Israel is concerned, the ADL is not far behind. However, no one officially knew of Foxman’s apparently key role in obtaining a presidential pardon for Marc Rich. Details of the significant financial arrangement between the ADL and Marc Rich Foundation only recently being revealed should not be viewed as a surprise since it is well understood that the ADL does nothing without financial incentive. |
ADL
Admission Noble or Attempted Protection from Further Scrutiny?
The
ADL is not known as an organization overwhelmingly forthcoming with information,
about themselves, specifically as it relates to funding.
They are forthcoming with information if involved in one of their well
orchestrated media smear campaigns targeted at any leader or organization that
does not acquiesce to their wishes or submit to their Zionist-centric world
view.
The ADL is a
well oiled public relations machine, and this appears to be a public relations
ruse aimed at protecting themselves from further and perhaps more intense
scrutiny. This recent admission by the ADL’s Abraham Foxman must be looked
upon with suspicion.
As a group
very familiar with the way of the ADL and their modus operandi, we believe that
if Foxman is publicly coming out and admitting involvement, and expressing
regret, there is very likely more to this story that has yet to be uncovered.
It is the position of the TEI that this admission is to be viewed as a
preemptive strike aimed at deflecting criticism. This strategy hopes to
have effectively bury the story thus preventing more invasive research into
further possible impropriety.

A
method of operating or functioning.
Emerging
from the quasi-admissions and media wordplay is one indisputable fact – that
lobbyists for the Marc Rich pardon have intentionally hidden their
involvement. Why?
If you
recall the early controversy surrounding the pardon, no Jewish groups admitted
involvement; in fact, many organizations and their leaders said that they were
not involved at all in the process.
Small
tidbits of information began to trickle out. These
same leaders and organizations began to admit that they were
"minimally" involved.
As
more details began to emerge regarding increased involvement, these leaders and
organizations continually denied that financial considerations went into the
decision making process hoping that no one would investigate whether they
received any of Marc Rich's money or not.
Now they are
being forced to admit that in many cases, they did receive monetary benefit from
a portion of Marc Rich’s illegally obtained financial empire.
According
to Foxman $100,000 was donated to the ADL in the most recent transaction and an
additional amount of $150,000 had been placed into ADL bank accounts over the
past years during which time, Rich was still a fugitive.
We understand that $250,000 is a drop in the bucket compared to the
ADL’s substantial annual budget of between $45 and $50 million dollars,
however, the fact that they received any money at all should set off alarms to
those interested in current events and interested in the behind the scenes
dealings that go into determining global policies and partnerships.
What is
beneath the veneer of respectability and noble gesturing on the part of the ADL
and their director and is that all they received?
Because
of a lucrative financial relationship, who else might the ADL challenge or lobby
on behalf of?
Does this
mean that those deemed to be enemies of Israel and the ADL are actually enemies
of the United States government?
It is
obvious that there is more than simply an implied relationship between these
governmental and organizational entities of which more and more information is
being revealed that cannot be dismissed as simply anti-Semitic paranoia.
How Did
Marc Rich Become A Fugitive?
A little
history regarding Marc Rich and how he became a fugitive from American justice.
Rich
built a financial empire as a commodities trader who exceeded the legal limits.
He fled the United States in 1983 rather than face
racketeering and other criminal charges in the areas of fraud and tax evasion.
Rich showed
no remorse, renounced his U.S. citizenship and yet, the highest official of the
United States government has granted him a complete pardon that is irreversible.
His ex-wife, songwriter Denise Rich, contributed $450,000 to Clinton's presidential library foundation as well as over $1 million dollars to the Democratic Party, according to their records.
Ehud
Barak and Abraham Foxman - Character References for Marc Rich
According
to the Jerusalem Post former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak acting as a
character reference that Marc Rich informed Clinton that Rich was involved in
numerous philanthropic and humanitarian projects in Israel contributing over
$100 million to various Israeli charitable organizations.
ADL receives
financial resources from Marc Rich through his top aide, and as a result, Foxman
uses the considerable clout of the ADL and Israeli lobby in America to put in a
good word with Clinton on Rich’s behalf.
It is a fact that Mr. Foxman in a Dec.7th 2000 letter on ADL letterhead
urged Clinton to grant a pardon on the grounds that “we are a country that was
founded on the belief in second chances.”
Another
interesting fact is that Abraham Foxman met with Marc Rich in the mid 1980s in
Switzerland, shortly after Rich fled the country.
He was at the time of their meeting being sought after by the FBI and the
US Marshall Service.
Did
Abraham Foxman knowingly meet with an individual who was a known fugitive from
American justice?
Would you be able to meet with a fugitive from American justice and escape punitive action?

Former
Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak said that he was not involved at all.
Then recently, March 16th to be exact, it was reported in the Jerusalem
Post that Barak acknowledged that he had a increased role in the Rich pardon
advocacy campaign than he previously admitted. (Barak
Changes Story - Admits Increased Role In Rich Pardon)
Clinton says
that there was no quid pro quo, however he has admitted that the decision to
pardon Marc Rich was “profoundly” shaped by his relationship with Israel,
its leadership, and members of the Israeli lobby in America after originally
stating that the pardon was granted based on “merit.”
One would either have to be incredibly naïve to not believe that these events are unrelated. Let’s see how long this story plays in the media.
